Prediction of the Thermodynamic Stability of TiC in Ni-Al Based Alloys

In this paper, all the chemistry reaction in Ti-C-Ni-Al system that may take place in the temperature range from 800K to 1300K were analyzed by means of thermodynamics. The thermodynamic stability has been predicted by comparing the changes of the Gibbs free energy(ΔG). The results of this study will provide academic supports for the fabrication and application of TiC reinforced Ni-Al based composites.
