Preparation of Ultrafine Plate-like WO_3 via W/O Microemulsions Method

Ultrafine plate-like WO_3 was synthesized in quaternary W/O microemulsion solution containing TritonX-100,cylcohexane,hexanol and water.XRD patterns show that the ultrafine sheets are the mixture of monoclinic and triclinic WO_3 crystals.SEM images show that the as-synthesized samples are homogeneous grain-size ultrafine sheets.BET analysis show that the ultrafine plate-like WO_3 has large specific area.Two key variables-ω_0(molar ratio of water to surfactant)and reactant concentration in water were investigated to reveal the size and shape changing of ultrafine plate-like WO_3.The mechanics of ultrafine plate-like WO_3 prepared in TritonX-100/cylcohexane/exanol /water solution was discussed tentatively.
