Preparation of Mineral Loading Nanometer Titanium Dioxide Photocatalyst and Application on Treating Azo Dye Wastewater

Rectorite and kaolinite were used to prepare mineral loading nanometer titanium dioxide photocatalyst.The XRD analysises of the photocatalysts show that TiO_2 has successfully loaded on the surface of the minerals,part of TiO_2 enter the interlayer of rectorite.Using these photocatalysts to treat wastewater containing azo dye shows that these photocatalysts have high decoloration effect.The results of the contrast experiments and analysis of IR and UV-Vis spectra show that the azo dye has been photodegraded.
