XPS Investigation of Ammonia Plasma Modified Polypropylene Membrane Surface
Wang Wenxu,Cai Jin,Cen Peilin Zhejiang University,Hangzhou,310027
The polypropylene membrane was submitted to ammonia gas plasma. The chemical compositon of the modified membrane was investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).It was found that the surface of modified polypropylene membrane had C-O,O-C=N,C-N and O-C=0,besides of original bonds, such as C-H,C=C and C-C.Nitrogen functionalities (-NH 2,-CO-NH 2)were formed on polypropylene surfaces. These groups may provide sites for subsequent covalent coupling of biomolecules.
