Influences of Rare Earth La3+ Substitution on Structure andMagnetic Properties of M-Type Strontium Ferrites

Liu Xiansong, Zhong Wei, Gu Benxi, Du Youwei(National Laboratory of Solid State Microstructure and Department of Physics, Na njing University, Nanjing 210093, China)  
M-type strontium ferrites with some of the Sr2 substituted by the rar e earth La3+, according to the formula Sr1-xLaxFe12O19, were prepared by ceram ic processing. The influences of the substituted amount of La3+ on structure an d magnetic properties of Sr1-xLaxFe12O19, compounds were systematically investi gated. It was found that a suitable amount of La3+ substitution may remarkably increase the saturation magnetization ós and the intrinsic coercivity HcJ.
