Preparation of Nanogold Colloid by C hemical Reducing with PVP Protection

This paper deals with the preparatio n of nanogold colloid by chemical red ucing gold from relatively with a solution of HAuO 4 with HC 2 O 4 as a reduction reagent and PVP as disp ersion and stabilizer.The gold particles size of 20nm -25nm were obtained under the given conditions.Some factors such as pH v alue,adding way,the amount of the HC 2 O 4 and the PVP etc which affecting the particle size and shape of the nanogold in the colloids,are d iscussed,respectively.Optimal conditions obtained for making nanogo ld colloid with particle size less than 20nm are:pH =4~5,Na 2 C 2 O 4 /Au =3,PVP /Au =1:1,and at 343K.Addi ng HAuCl 4 into the mixture of Na 2 S 2 O 4 and PVP aqueous solution is a better way of operation.The new process is characterized by its simple operation,high producti vity and lower cost.
