The Study on Synthesis and Electrocatalytic Properties of La_(1-x)Sr_xMnO_3

To improve catalytic activity of gas diffusion electrode and discharging current of zinc-air batteries, La1- SrxMnO3 catalysts for x zinc-air batteries were prepared by a improved sol-gel method. XRD was employed to characterize the catalyst, and catalytic activity of La1- SrxMnO3 prepared at different temperature and with different x values were investigated by steady polarization curves. Also x discharging properties of AA type zinc-air batteries were tested by a constant discharging test. The results show that the product La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 has maximal catalytic activity, when x values of La1- SrxMnO3 is 0.3 and synthetical temperature is 700℃. Also, the product x La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 possesses a perfect perovskite structure. The results also show a discharging capacity of AA type zinc-air batteries with LaSrMnO3 and La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 catalyst which is 4 800 mAh and 4 200 mAh respectively. The discharging specific energy of the latter had a obvious increase than that of the former.
