Disordered Nanocrystalline Al_(65)Fe_(25)Ni_(10)Alloy Powder Prepared by Mechanical Alloying

The structural evolution and thermal stability of Al65Fe25Ni10 mixed power prepared by mechanical alloying were studied by X-ray diffraction(XRD),differential thermal analysis(DTA)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The experimental results show that intermetallic compounds Al5Fe2 and Al3Ni2 appeared after 5 h milling and annealing at temperature 500℃.The disordered nanocrystalline Al(Fe,Ni)phase was obtained after 500 h milling.
