On Translation Criteria

The fact Chinese researchers remain unimproved in translation crite ria research for over a century makes it a riddle. After analyzing why translato rs and researchers can't reach a universal agreement upon translation criteria, Chinese culture is weak at scientific approaches and Chinese researchers are in want of proper attitudes toward academic debating, this paper raises that transl ation criteria should be relative, polybasic, descriptive as well as prescriptiv e.
