Study of the Immobilization Cell Technology for Phenol Biodegradation

The key of immobilization cell technology is the characteristic of used carrier material. This article tries to find a carrier with low price,long life and high efficiency. The experimental contrast of the same strain of bacteria that biodegrades phenol in immobilized cell state and in free cell state proved that red brick fragments is a fine carrier material. By the cross-test experiments, the optimal using condition of immobilized cells is carried out. Further more there is a kinetic study to the course of free cells and immobilized cells biodegrading phenol. The result indicates that under the both two circumstances, the course of the strain of bacteria degrading the phenol is accord with the Monod model.
