Screening of microbial flocculant-producing bacteria and optimal incubation conditions research

Among the 194 bacterial strains isolated from three representative sludge samples, 14 bacteria, which could produce efficient MBF, were obtained after screening and rescreening. The MBF produced by these 14 strains had shown positive effects on treatment of pharmaceutic sewage, domestic sewage, blue ink and ink sewage (0.2%). However, most of the strains lost their abilities in producing effective MBF except the I-41 strains after over 10 times of regeneration in about half a year. I-41 is a bacillus, G+ amphibacteriam, which could keep activity in producing effective MBF, after regenerations. The optimal incubation conditions for I-41 strain to produce highly efficient MBF were to cultivate it with shallow layer fermentation substrate (pH 7.0)at 37℃ for 60 hrs. The substrate should be shaked manually for several times each day. Meanwhile, the model of MBF-producing bacteria is found in this trail program.
