Application of Monte-Carlo Method to Bridge Damage Identification

The damage identification of bridge structure is taken as the research object;modal strain energy method and Monte-Carlo method are adopted to discuss the influence of the inevitable testing noise on the damage location of bridge structure.The influences of modal orders,single damage,multiple damage and damage locations are taken into consideration during the analysis,and the structural damages are located according to the change ratio of modal strain energy with noise.Then,a case study of one continuous bridge is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.The change law of damage identification ratio along with the testing noise level at different damage degrees and damage locations is obtained after 10000 times calculation by Monte-Carlo method.The result shows that the damage identification ratio is a more suitable token of the damage detection method and it is suitable for the actual engineering requirements.
