Numerical Analysis for Stresses and Deformations of solidified shell in ISP Type Mould for Continuous Casting of Thin Slabs

The temperatures and thichnesses of solidified shells in ISP type mould for continuous casting of thin slabs are analysed,and based on which three dimensional thermal palsto elastic EFM analyses on the shells are carried out,and ,in turn,the distributions of temperatures,stresses and displacements,as well as the longitudinal cracking index (L.C.I),transversal cracking index (T.C.I) and the index defined with effective stresses of the solidified shells in the different drawing speeds are given.
