An Investigation on Depression in Relation to Self-efficacy and Sense of Academic Weariness of Universtity Students

To examine relationships of self-efficacy,sense of academic weariness and depression.Procedure:A group of 465 college students were administered with the General Perceived self-efficacy scale(GSES),depression scale(CES-D)and sense of academic weariness questionnaires.then collect and analyze the scores.The mean score of GSES for male college students is obviously higher than that of female ones.The score of GSES is negatively related with that of CES-D and sense of academic weariness is positively related with CES-D,lower sense of academic weariness and higher self-efficacy may apparently predict the decrease in depression level.Gender effect exists in the relationship of general perceived self-efficacy and depression,self-efficacy have far more important influences to depression for male than that for female.Self-efficacy and sense of academic weariness have certain relation with depression.
