Systematic evaluation on relationship between TCF7L2 gene rs7903146 genetic variation and gestational diabetes mellitus

Objective To systematically evaluate the relationship between the transcription factor 7 like-2(TCF7 L2)gene rs7903146 CT and the onset of gestational diabetes(GDM).Methods The case-control studies of rs7903146 polymorphosm and GDM onset were retrieved from Medline,CBMdisc,Wanfang Data knowledge service platform and Chinese national knowledge internet(CNKI)until August 31,2017.The pooled OR and the corresponding 95% confidence interval were calculated to assess the relationship between its genetic variation with GDM onset risk.Results A total of 17 literatures were included,including 13 950 study subjects(5 066 cases in the GDM group and 8 884 cases in the control subjects).The meta analysis results showed that rs7903146 CT was significantly associated with the onset of GDM under the dominant model,compared with the TT genotype,the GDM onset risk in C allele carriers was significantly decreased[OR95%=CI 0.67(0.54-0.84)];and under the recessive model,compared with the T allele genotypes,CC gynotype could significantly reduce the onset risk of GDM[ORand 95%CI 0.64(0.56-0.74)].ConclusionTCF7 L2 rs7903146 CT affects the susceptibility to GDM in pregnancy women,and C allele may be a protective hereditary factor in the prevention of the occurrence of GDM.
