Borocarbon Phase for 60Si_2MnREB Spring Steel

The borocarbon phase is analyzed synthetically for 60Si 2MnREB spring steel by applying the microsize analysis with the use of X ray diffraction and electron probe. After the quenching at 850 ℃, while the boron is over 0.003% in the sample, the uncontinuous Fe 23 (B,C) network will take place in the austenite grain boundary and cause the alloy brittleness. After the normalizing at 950 ℃, there are a few particles of the Fe 3(B,C) phase in the grain boundary. The precipitation and transformation mechanisms for the two borocarbon phase have been studied.
