Power system reactive power optimization based on ant colony system

Reactive power optimization is one of key problems of voltage stability and economic operation for electric power system.It is also an important method to improve voltage quality.Ant Colony System(ACS) is applied to reactive power optimization,and a corresponding mathematical model is built in the paper.The proposed method has been tested in IEEE 6 bus systems.Comparing the ACS optimization result and traditional optimization result,it is showed that the ACS optimization is effective.
