Research on multi-phase compensate impedance component of protection relaying

The principle and characteristics of multi-phase compensate impedance component in power line distance protection are analyzed in the paper.Two criterions of multi-phase compensate impedance component are presented.Simulation analysis results show that the multi-phase compensate impedance component can distinguish outside faults and inside faults of the protected line correctly and it is affected very slightly by fault resistance.
