A Tentative Study of the Mechanism of Land Subsidence in Beijing

This paper introduces a classification of the aquifers and compressive layers in the Beijing plain area.And relevant conclusions have been reached from the compression and consolidation experi- ments of two soil layers of different depths in the Tianzhu area,and also through analyses of the monitor- ing data of land subsidence stations and groundwater table in 2005.
