Strategies Research of Nansha New District to Build the Transportation Center for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

Under the national strategy of building the Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou has proposed turning Nansha new district, its only sub-center, into the traffic center for the Greater Bay Area. This article fully analyzes Nansha's status quo, as well as the opportunities and challenges it is facing. Based on shipping development foundation, policy advantages, and the development conditions of Guangzhou national transportation center, it proposes a development path to build Nansha new district into an external transportation hub of the Greater Bay Area, meanwhile upgrade shipping industry from "harbor-oriented" to "shippingoriented" international shipping center. It also suggests some concrete strategies.
