Strain Measurement System Based on FPGA

In some of the strain measurement systems,not only the characteristics of small volume and low consumption,but also the function of multi-channel sampling is demanded,so the system must have a more flexible channel selection and sampling methods.The paper presents the use of FPGA hardware implementation methods for achieving these requirements.FPGA is used to control the logic module.Through a series of logic and clock operations in FPGA,command logic is deserialized and sent to a microcontroller and the analog circuits according to the requirements of the user's settings.The data collected by the microcontroller is saved into the internal FIFO in the FPGA.When the FIFO reaches the value of redundancy,the computer removes the collected data for display and storage.The experimental results show that the system is stable,easy to control,and has obtained reliable experimental data.
