Ship collision risk assessment of Chongqi Bridge during its operation period

Ship collision risk during the operation period of a bridge is gradually becoming a serious problem.So it has the important significance to execute the evaluation of the ship collision risk during operation period of a bridge.Using the method of AASHTO guide,the calculation of the ship collision probability per year has been executed and the failure probability per year of the piers of Chongqi Bridge was provided in details.The results show that the overall level for ship collision risk of Chongqi Bridge during its operation period is 3rd grade,with a medium risk level.Special attentions need to be paid by all the parties involved during construction as well as operator.And proper prevention and monitoring measures should be taken carefully.
