SU Yun-shan;Wang Yanan Institute of Economic Research,Xiamen University;
This paper selects the data on energy consumption and macro economy of China from 1980 to 2016,including gross domestic product(GDP),total coal consumption,total oil consumption,total natural gas consumption,and the total consumption of hydropower,nuclear power and wind power.These five indexes are tested by unit root test,cointegration test and Granger causality test.The relationship between energy consumption structure and economic growth is analyzed with empirical research.The result shows that China's coal consumption and oil consumption have a significant positive effect on economic growth,and the impact of coal consumption on economic growth is greater than that of oil consumption.On the whole,the consumption of fossil energy in China has promoted the economic development.Finally,this paper puts forward some suggestions for China to optimize the energy structure and acquire the sustainable development based on the analysis result and the actual situation.
