Behavior of the Undisturbed Overconsolidated Cohesive Soils under the Load of a Moving Train

This paper discusses the stress conditions of the overconsolidation cohesive soils cut out of the railway under the load of a moving train simulated through applied dynamic triaxial apparatus.It also deals with the relationship between the dynamic stress and dynamic strain as well as the rules of the vertical permanent de- formation.It is proved that the deformation property is that of the strain softening between the stress and strain in the undisturbed overconsolidation cohesive soils under the load of a moving train.It can be expressed by means of R.L.Kondner hyperbolic.Moreover,the consolidation ratio Kc,static stress σ_3,dynamic stress σ_d and the rules of the vertical permanent deformation in the cohesive soils are also obtained.This may serve as a reference measure to prevent and treat the disease of subgrade.
