Study on seepage testing of the rebuilding of existing tunnels

The seepage monitoring methods of the rebuilding tunnels are briefly introduced in this paper.The testing principles of ground penetrating radar and microwave humidity measurement equipment are discussed.For the Chenjiachong tunnel rebuilding project,the junction and seepage of the fresh and old concrete are tested by using the ground penetrating radar and microwave humidity equipment.The results monitored by the ground penetrating radar are coincided with those tested by microwave humidity equipment.The information obtained in this process has shown the moisture distribution in the junction of the fresh and old concrete.The results are useful for judging the rationality of design and proving the validity of seepage prevention in the rebuilding.
