Seismic response reduction measurement of long-span self-anchored suspension bridges with single-tower

In order to reduce the main girder's longitudinal displacement of long-span self-anchored suspension bridge under the earthquake,the midas three-dimensional dynamic finite element model of a single tower self-anchored suspension bridge with main span of the 350 m was established,and the dynamic characteristics were analyzed.Furthermore,the seismic response reduction effects of two measures,i.e.,the lead rubber bearings and the viscous dampers,under the real bridge seismic wave were investigated.The results show that the longitudinal displacement responses of self-anchored suspension bridge can be effectively mitigated by the lead rubber bearings placed on the piers or by the viscous dampers placed between the main tower and the main girder in the longitudinal direction.
