Model test study on piston wind of tunnels

Along with the construction of increasing one-way long and special long railway tunnels,employing piston wind makes it possible to improve air quality and reduce ventilation energy consumption. Researches on tunnel pressure waves and train air resistance have been widely conducted both at home and abroad,but the tunnel piston wind has been seldom analyzed systematically. According to similar theory and model transformation,model test station was built to test the velocity of piston wind by experimental method with a full model. By comparing the experimental values,the theoretical calculation values,the prototype conversion test values and the theoretical calculation values,the results show that the satisfaction of piston wind velocity is high. Therefore this kind of model test is reliable for research on tunnel piston wind with the linear scale being 60 and the work medium being water.
