Topological Optimization of the Space Pile Foundation

The optimization of the space pile foundation is a very difficult problem that consists of multiple variables,multiple cases and multiple constraint conditions,including cross-section, geometry,topology optimization and variable discretization. Pile number integer discrete variable and its topology optimization make this problem more complicated.The authors of this paper adopt the technology of pile number variable factor variable and succeed in building up the mathematic optimization model whose functions are explicit and solve this problem by using a multiple-level algorithem, and accomplish topology optimization by connecting with Expert Engineering Library. The examples of application in situ which give satisfactory solution show the promising performance of this method.
