Investigation on the Status of Early Fruiting and High-Yield Camellia oleifera Forest Construction in the North of Guilin

In order to find out the construction status of the early fruit and high yield Camellia oleifera forest in the north of Guilin and promote the development of Camellia oleifera. Nine sample areas were set up in the north of Guilin, including Sishui township, Piaoli township①and Piaoli township② in Longsheng county, Xiangli township and Gaoshang township in Xing'an county, Lingtian township in Lingchuan county, Ziyuan township in Ziyuan county, Huangguan township and Xinxu township in Guanyang county. The growth and yield of Camellia oleifera were investigated in each sample area. The results show that the early fruit and high yield Camellia oleifera forest in the north of Guilin are in good condition. In the planting area of Changlin series Camellia oleifera, Lingtian township has the highest growth, the average height of 6-year old tree is 2.69 m and average crown diameter is 2.07 m, and Piaoli② township has the highest yield, the average yield of 5-year old tree is 4.63 kg/plant. In the planting area of Cenruan 3 Camellia oleifera, Xiangli township has the highest growth, the average height of 5-year old tree is 2.44 m and average crown diameter is 1.99 m, and Ziyuan township has the highest yield, the average yield of 6-year old tree is 6.12 kg/plant. In the planting area of Xianglin series Camellia oleifera, Huangguan township has the highest tree height, the average height of 5-year old tree is 2.27 m, Xinxu township has the largest crown diameter, the average crown diameter of 6-year old tree is 1.84 m, Huangguan township has the highest yield, the average yield of 5-year old tree is 5.29 kg/plant. According to the investigation results, Cenruan 3 Camellia oleifera is suitable for planting in the Ziyuan township of Ziyuan county. Xianglin series Camellia oleifera is suitable for planting in the Sishui township of Longsheng county, Huangguan township and Xinxu township of Guanyang county. Changlin series Camellia oleifera is suitable for planting in the Piaoli ② township of Longsheng county and Lingtian township of Lingchuan county.
