The Effects of Storage Conditions on Peach Fruits

Liu Caili Huo Junsheng (Dept.of Food Sci., Hebei Agri. Univ., Baoding, China)  
The effects of temperature, composition of atmosphere,chemical agents, irradiation and hypobaric treatment on postharvest physiology of peach fruits are discussed. The low temperature and controlled atmosphere can effectively delay the senescence of peach fruits during storage, and keep the stability of some nutrients and metabolites. The breakown and decay of the fruits can be reduced and storage stabiligy fortified by intermitten warming, CO treatment during CA storage, spraying Ca,GA and some other chemieal substances before harvest. Thiabendazole,sodium orthophenyl phenate. Vc, Cl_2 and irridation obviously inhibit the infections of fungi.The mechanism of the Chilling injury and the inter-mitten warming is also concerned.
