Effect of Salt Stress on Membrane Permeability,Lipid Peroxidation,Proline Content and SOD Activity in the Callus of Elaeagnus angustifolia

Wang Baoshan Yao Dunyi (Dept.of Biology,Shandong Teachers' Univ.Jinan)
Low NaCl concentrations stimulated the growth of calli ofE.angustifolia, but when the NaCl concentration in the medium was over0.7%,the growth was reduced and protein content decreased, while prolinecontent,MDA and membrane permeability increased with the increase ofNaCl concentration.NaCl treatment stimulated the SOD activity but didnot alter the pattern of SOD isoenzymes. In this paper the relationshipbetween membrane permeability, lipid peroxidation,SOD and salt tolerance inthe callus of Elaeagnus angustifolia were discussed.
