Effects of Ge-132 on the breeding egg quality of Shaoxing duck

330 170-days Shaoxing ducks were randomly divided into 5 groups.The first group was control group,was fed with basic diets;the 2nd,3rd,4th,5th group fed with basic diets adding 100,200,400,600 mg/kg Ge-132 respectively.and collected breeding eggs 1 week before the end of the experiment.150 breeding eggs were taken to hatch.The main results were shown as follows:①The contents of germanium in eggs of all testing groups increased as that in diet did(P0.01).②All testing groups' fertility and hatchability were significantly higher than that of control group.The fertility was the highest(97.33%)in group Ⅲ(200 mg/kg Ge-132);The hatchability of fertilization eggs and all eggs were the highest in group Ⅳ(400 mg/kg Ge-132),which were 90.98% and 86.43% respectively.③The newborn ducks' weight decreased along with the increasing of diet Ge-132 level.The studies showed that Shaoxing ducks fed with basic diets adding Ge-132 can lay high germanium eggs.Feeding this way can mildly improve egg quality,increase the egg's fertility and hatchability.
