The spatio-temporal distribution of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi of Oxytropis aciphylla rhizosphere in the area of Shapotou

Soil samples divided by a depth of 50 cm into 5 layers were collected in May,August and October of 2007 in the rhizosphere of Oxytropis aciphylla in Shapotou of Ningxia.The relations of temporal and spatial distribution of AM fungi and soil factors were studied.The results showed that the depth of soil layer affected the AM fungal colonization and spore density significantly.The highest AM fungal colonization occurred in the 10-30 cm layer,the highest spore density existed in the 0-10 cm layer.The better symbiose relation was formed between AM fungi and Oxytropis aciphylla in 3 periods,the average total colonization rate of AM fungi was 86.98% and the average spore density was 836.97/100g soil.Spore density had a significant positive correlation with organic matter and available N and had a very significant positive correlation with available P.Hypha colonization had a very significant positive correlation with available N.The percent colonization had a very significant positive correlation with available N and a significant negative correlation with pH.Soil protease had a significant negative correlation with vesicular colonization.Soil urease had a significant positive correlation with hypha colonization and the percent colonization,and had a very significant positive correlation with spore density.
