A feed automatic control system of abrasive cutter based on PID

Since the traditional abrasive cutter can not adjust feed speed automatically to adapt to the changes of the size of the workpiece,an automatic control system based on PID for abrasive cutter is designed.The system can adjust the feed speed according to the cutting force,to make cutting force remains near the set value.The system cut the workpiece as soon as possible without damaging the grinding wheel,and thereby save energy and protect the grinding wheel.In order to improve the cutting efficiency without damaging the grinding wheel,the control process should increase the feed speed when the cutting force is less than the set value,reduce the feed speed while the cutting force is close to or greater than the settings.This system uses the PID order of PLC to control the feed speed,the control objective is cutting force,and the output of the PID controller is feed speed,so the feed speed can automatically adjusted.The operator does not need to set the cutting speed according to the actual cross-section of the workpiece size,simply to set the maximum cutting force of the grinding wheel can withstand the maximum cutting force and maximum feed rates.The automatic control system can automatically adjust the feed speed according to the actual cutting force.Practice shows that it is practicable to use PID to control the feed rates,improve the cutting efficiency,and has some practical values.
