Relationships between plant species,soil hygroscopic water content of mountain meadow steppe and altitude in Gangcha County of Qinghai Province

An investigation was made to study the plant species composition,plant height and spatial distribution characteristics of aboveground phytomass and hygroscopic water content in soil of mountain meadow steppe in Sanjiaocheng Sheep Breeding Farm of Qinghai Province.The results showed that the composition of plant species changed greatly with altitude.The altitude showed a negative relationship with plant height and abovegro-und phytomass.The time for soil in different layers and different altitudes to reach equivalent hygroscopic water content varied.
