Study on temperature control of turf soil for simulated stadium

Nest-type Beijing Olympic Stadium was simulated to study the effects of turf soil temperature control.In order to improve the condition of turf root zone,a temperature control system was loaded.The results show that the temperature control system could adapt the soil conditions and kept a good quality of turfgrass during the hot season.By determining the soil temperature in 0,5 and 10 cm of turf root zone inside the stadium,the temperature of cooling treatment plot was lower than that of the control by 3.6,7.5 and 8.5 ℃ respectively.The difference between them was significant.The changing tendency of canopy temperature between cooling treatment and the control plots was consistent,and the temperature of treatment plot was lower than that of the control.This results proved that applying soil temperature control can weaken the effects of heat accumulation to the turfgrass.
