The branch module characteristics of Artemisia ordosica and A.arenaria were studied. The result showed that the branching angles of most branches of A.ordosica and A.arenaria were big, which could be grouped into medium-class of branching angle(the branching angle ranges from 50° to 70°).The stretch of branches showed a weakening tendency from third-grade to first-grade branches,it suggested that the branches from thirdgrade to first-grade were gradually becoming short. The branches of different grades of A.ordosica were longer than that of A.arenaria;the branch-stem ratio and the stepwise bifurcation ratio of both A.ordosica and A.arenaria showed an increasing tendency. The ratio of branches diameters of different grades of A.ordosica was bigger than that of A.arenaria;and the stepwise bifurcation ratio of A.ordosica was lower than that of A.arenaria.
