Research Progresses in Salt Tolerance of Hordeum Brevisubulatum

As one of the strongest salt tolerance species in Triticeae, Poaceae, studies on salt tolerance mechanism of halophytes Hordeum brevisubulatum are important for improving crop salt tolerance. Researches on salt tolerance of H. brevisubulatum were carried out lately, and focused on follows: salt tolerance biological characteristics, new salt tolerance varieties breeding, salt tolerance physiological mechanism, screening salt induced differentially expressed genes, cloning and analysis of salt tolerance related genes and encoded proteins, as well as interspecies genetic researches. Although obtained these valuable results, the precise salt tolerance mechanism of H. Brevisubulatum remains elusive and need further investigation.
