Numerical Simulation of Gasoline Engine Spray-wall Interaction

It is difficult to avoid spray impinging on the piston surface in direct injection compact engines. Study of spray-wall interaction characteristic is very important to improve the combustion process of engine. On the basis of a model raised by Mundo et al, a series of CFD-calculations analyses of constant volume gasoline spray-wall interaction are performed with different wall temperature, wall roughness, injection velocity and grid. The compared and analyzed results can provide references and information for improving test of spray-wall interaction and optimizing gasoline spray-wall interaction models.
