SUPERPLASTIC CAVITY GROWTH AND ITS INFLUENCE ON FRACTURE OF A LY12CZ ALLUMINIUM ALLOY

LY12CZ alluminium alloy is a superplastic material as its commercial state.With a gram size of 15.3 μm and under the condition of 490℃ and ε_0=1.67x10~(-4)s~(-1),themaximum total elongation of this material arrives at 346% and its m-value at 0.52—0.6.This material is sensitive to cavitation and the cavity growth behaviour can be well des-cribed by the two-stage cavity growth model proposed in the present work.In considera-tion of the effects of both strain-rate sensityivity and cavitation,the total elongation ofsuperplastic materials can be predicted theoretically.
