Comparison of ESTs and SNPs From Posterior Silkgland of Silkworm Bombyx mori Between the Strain P50 and C108

The expressing sequence tags(ESTs) from the fourth molters and fifth instar silkworm larvae of strain P50 and C108 were analyzed with the BLAST sofeware.The results confirmed in the molecular level that the protein synthesis is more active in the fifth-instar than that in the fourth molting.Totally(1 584) candidate single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) were identified with Sim4 and Diffseq tools from the ESTs,of which there were 820 times of transvertions(51.77%) and 764 times of transitions(48.23%).And(2 776) insertions/deletions(InDels) were recognized,most of them were shorter than(27 bp)(90%) with the 48.56% of(1 bp) InDels.The above results have provided the data to illustrate the diversity of the two silkworm strains in the genomic level.
