STUDIES ON THE MAIN FACTORS INFLUENCING DIFFERENTIATION OF ADVENTITIOUS BUDS FROM MULBERRY LEAVES

Using MS as basic medium,the effects of phytohormones,pH,sugar,amount of a-gar,mulberry varieties and sources of explants on the differentiation of adventitiousbuds from mulberry leaves were studied.The results showed that phytohormones werethe most decisive factor.pH 5.6,agar content 6g/1 and concentration of glucose 20g/1were appropriate.The difference of differentiation rate was significant among differentmulberry varieties.The highest differentiation rate occurred to the leaves excised fromtube plants.Meanwhile the leaves of field plants could also be applied during a periodbetween bud exposing and growth stopping.A differentiation rate as high as 96%hasbeen obtained.
