Studies on Isolation of General RNA from Tea Plant [Camellia sinensis(L )O Kuntze]

Chomczynskis single step method of RNA isolation was partially modified on the basis of the features of biochemistry compositions in fresh tea leaves Influence of different concentration of L Cysteine,soluble polyvingl pyrrolidone(PVP)and insoluble PVP on isolated RNA purity,recovery rate and interity were studied The results of the spectrometeric determination and denaturing agarose gel electrophoresis showed that the purity and/or recvovery of isolated RNA can be improved by adding 5-10 mmol/L of L Cysteine or 4%-6% of soluble PVP The integrity can be increased by adding 5%-10% of insoluble PVP when crushing the leaves
