Effect of tea polysaccharides (TPS) on blood glucose, blood lipid and immunological function of mice was investigated by injection and oral administration. The boold glucose was significantly( P0 01 )decreased and the high density lipoprotein cholesterol was increased by intra peritoneal injecting (ip)TPS at the dosage of 50mg/kg·BW.No significant effect was found on the serum cholesterol and serum triglyceride by the injection. The immunological function was improved by oral administration (op) at the daily dosage of 25 mg/kg·BW for 14 days.According to the acute toxicity test, toxicity did not take place until the total dosage of ip reached 1000mg/kg·BW within 24 hours.
