HONEYCLOVER A FINE LEGUME SPECIES FOR MAKING GREEN AND SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION

Honeyclover(Trifolium ambiguum Bieb.) was introduced into China from the United States in 1985,and has been grown in Beijing for 5 years.Honeyclover adapted well in Beijing,with winter—hardiness,hot tolerance,disease resistance,and persistance.It has strong rhizome and developed a dense ground surface vegetation.The flowers were white and pink,and pollinated by bees.The forage was palatable to cattle, sheep,and swine.Honeyclover has potential to be used for beautifying enviroment,soil and water conservation,nectar plant.
