Primary study on GIS and GPS-based investigation approaches of agriculture and animal husbandry resources

GIS and GPS have been used in the investigation of agriculture and animal husbandry resources in recent years.Based on powerful function of spatial management,spatial analysis in GIS and accurate positioning ability of GPS,a method for agriculture and animal husbandry resources investigation was presented in this paper.It integrated the spatial and attribute information and adapted to quantitative and qualitative analysis of different resources.For example,winter wheat planting area in Qingyang city was investigated by GPS,figure and data were analyzed using Arc/info and Arcview,the result was very close to the data from local city.
