Comparison of crude protein use efficiency in red clover and alfalfa

Red clover and alfalfa are two forage legumes containing high level of crude protein.Ourstudies revealed that crude protein degradationin alfalfa was higher than red clover in the process ofsilage,resultinginlowcrude protein use efficiency,nitrogen waste and environmental pollution.Themechanismof red clover had lowdegradation was clarified and used to direct alfalfa production.
