Transformation studies of Medicago saliva mediated by Agrobacterium tumefaciens with AtNHX1 gene

Several factors (bacterial concentrations, infected time, negative pressure treatment time, pre-culture and co-culture time, acterium-free and screening methods etc. ) affecting genetic transformation of alfalfa (Medicago sativa), which is mediated by Agrobacterium tumefaciens with AtNHX1 gene, were studied on the basis of high-frequency regeneration system of alfalfa somatic embryos. Transformation system for alfalfa was successfully set up and the transgenic somatic embryos were also obtained.
