The preliminary research on Oxytropis ochrocephala rust in alpine meadow around Qinghai lake

The incidence of disease and the symptom of rust and its effects on plant height,branch number and flowers of Oxytropis ochrocephala in alpine meadow around Qinghai lake were studied.The results showed that the pathogen of O.ochrocephala rust was Uromyces lapponicus,which had not the urediniospores stage.O.ochrocephala had a higher withering and death rate in the mountain summit,while it had a higher incidence and infection rate of in the mountain base.The rust could inhibit plant growth,decrease branches and flowers,and cause death of the whole plant.
