Comparison of alfalfa cultivars in Kunming,Yunnan province

YIN Jun1,SUN Zhen-zhong2,DENG Ju-fen1,LUO Quan2(1.Yunnan Forage Grass and Feedstuff Working station,Kunming 650201,China;2.Pasture science Department of Yunnan Agricultural University,Kunming 650201,China)  
Plant height,grwoth rate,forage yield and stem leave ratio were compared for 26 introduced alfalfa cultivars in Kunming,Yunnan province.Three cultivars: Siriver,Victoria and WL-525HQ had superior performance on height,growth rate,production and stem leaf ratio than others 23 cultivars,suggesting that the three cultivars are suitable to be used in northern subtropics region of Yunnan province.
